The word “pīkake” means “peacock,” and the blossom’s scent is well-loved by many. When making lei, pīkake is often used, especially its white-petaled, single-flowered variety. With our collection, we wanted to capture the beauty of the pīkake and how its scent brings us all back home - to Hawaiʻi. Versatility is key, especially when you and yours are always on the go. With our Pīkake Lei Microfiber Towels, which come in ʻākala (pink), hinahina (gray), and poni (purple), you’ll be prepared for any adventure. Light weight, quick drying and sand proof, our towels are made of polyester and nylon and measure to be 60 by 30 inches. From a pareo to a mat, Pīkake Lei Microfiber Towels also feature our original Pīkake Lei design on one side, with the other sporting smaller, multiple strands. Perfect for the beach and travel!
Pīkake n.1. The Arabian jasmine (Jasminum sambac), introduced from India, a shrub or climber, with rounded, dark-green leaves and small, white, very fragrant flowers used for leis. Since Princess Ka-ʻiu-lani was fond of both these flowers and her peacocks (pīkake), the same name was given the flowers. (Neal 680.) (as found in wehewehe.org)
I love the print and the towels! Dries hair fast and are perfect for the beach or the kids’ swim classes since they are thin. I can get more towels in a bag! Bought one during Christmas and had to get another!
I have many of these mini pouches from Aloha Collection and the pikake design is my favorite! Super useful for keeping my purse organized on a daily or really great for travel.
Nice End of the Year for my childrens' teachers. Paired with the following quote: "School isn't supposed to be dangerous. It' s not a place they should be afraid. It's their 2nd home. It's where they spend most of their waking hours." -William Landay. Thank you for being a 2nd hope and safe haven for our child.
